Introduction:
Increasingly companies are focusing on how their DEIA practices and policies to build inclusion in their teams and across their organization. Many of these initiatives focus on training to mitigate the impact of unconscious bias or setting diversity targets in hiring and promotion. Research shows that by only focusing in these two areas many companies find their initiatives are create little or even opposite result of what they expected.
This workshop focuses on how HR and management can keep up with trends in DEIA practices and apply them in the context of China and Asia. This workshop includes a focus on building organizational and HR capability to support effective workplace processes.
Objectives:
1) Establish why Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access are essential for organisations who want to recruit and keep talent going into the next decade.
2) Identify the gaps in understanding in an organisation that act as barriers to effective DEIA strategy.
3) Highlight Second Generation Bias and how to counter it with an effective inclusion and equity strategy aligned with the context of business in China
4) Introduce updated frameworks for addressing inequity and discrimination at work
5) Share diversity themes that are relevant in China and in Asia to help localize DEIA initiatives to companies outside of North American and Europe
