Dr.Laurie Underwood
Dr. Laurie Underwood is a specialist in crisis management and leadership, published author of best-selling China business books, and a business-school professor and seasoned consultant with more than 20 years of work experience in Greater China. She assists clients through her rich prior corporate experience as Director of Communications for Air Liquide (Asia Pacific), MRIC Group (Greater China), DKSH (China), CEIBS, and American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and through her teaching experience with business schools including CEIBS, Fudan, NYU Shanghai, Duke, Skema, EmLyon, Kedge, Indian Institute of Technology, and more.
Currently, Dr Underwood is based in Paris, where she serves as Head of Marketing Management Major, Marketing Department, IESEG School of Management (Paris). She continues to work with Sino Associates as a senior advisor specializing in Crisis Management, Leadership, Corporate Communications, and Cross-cultural Management.
She has co-authored three top-selling China business books: China CEO (Wiley, 2006), China Entrepreneur (Wiley, 2009), China CEO II (Wiley, 2020) written together with Prof. Juan A Fernandez (Dean of CEIBS MBA Program). In addition, her business cases have been published in China Business Casebook (Ethics International Press, 2023), and her research on sustainable marketing has been published in the annual CEIBS ESG White Paper (2018 – 2023).
Prof. Underwood holds Doctorate in Business Administration from Grenoble Ecole de Management, a Chief Marketing Officer Certificate and Masters in Business Administration.
